Anxiety....you wake up already scanning the day for danger
We see you. We see your anxiety. And your anxiety sees you. You wake up already scanning the day for danger. Your chest tightens before your feet even touch the floor. You rehearse conversations in your head, just in case. You feel like you’re constantly walking a mental tightrope—one wrong thought and everything could unravel. You smile, you function, you show up. But inside, it’s chaos. The “what ifs” never stop. The fear of being judged, misunderstood, or not enough—it’s exhausting. And the worst part? You feel like you should be able to “just get over it.” But anxiety isn’t weakness. It’s your nervous system trying to protect you, even when there’s no real threat. It’s your mind doing overtime, trying to control the uncontrollable. Now, imagine this… You sit in a room with someone who doesn’t rush you, doesn’t judge you, and doesn’t try to fix you. They listen. They help you untangle the knots in your thoughts. They teach you how to breathe again—not just with your lungs, but with

Health Anxiety....What is It?
Health Anxiety.... What is it? Health anxiety (sometimes called hypochondria) is when you spend so much time worrying you're ill, or about getting ill, that it starts to take over your life. Some people might call you a hypnochondriac or that you are fussing over nothing. However, Health Anxiety is much more serious than that and it really affects someone's mental and physical health, as well as their social activities and work or education. It can be really debilitating and it's important to get support sooner, rather than later. Here's some of the signs and symptoms of Health Anxiety. Remember, everyone is different and we all experience anxiety and life differently. What's important to know is that, if it's affecting your life is an unhelpful or distressing way, get some support and start taking control of some of your anxiety symptoms. You may have Health Anxiety if you: * Have an obsessional preoccupation with the idea that they are currently (or will be) experiencing a physical i

When anxiety starts creeping into your life you.....
When anxiety creeps into your life you.... * Start feeling that dread of getting up in the morning and press 'snooze' multiple times to delay facing the day ahead * You go to work or college with a headache, or a tight chest, or feel shaky or your heart beats fasts. And it's not the booze because you haven't had any. It's the anxiety and stress starting it's work on you again * You make excuses so you can avoid giving that presentation at work; or delay that lunch date with a friend; or be alone so yo can have that extra cigarette or drink to take the edge off and help you feel more calm * You over-prepare, over-clean, over-think, over-analyse, over-everything - because, if you do, things will 'go better' and if you don't...well, let's say, it's not pretty! * You're exhausted with it all. Anxiety is tiring! Juggling too many plates and having too many eyes on the ball makes you want to hide away and sleep for as long as you can * People get on your nerves and you feel bored, impatient

How are you? No, really, how are you?
Hello! How are you? We're guessing that I might already know the answer to that though and you have found yourself here because, actually you’re not feeling all that good at the moment. Is that right? We all don’t feel so good sometimes and that's ok; however, sometimes, we can feel anxious, down, hurt, in pain, numb and a whole load of other things for quite a long time and that’s not ok. Why? Because the longer things go on, the worse we feel and it affects our behaviour, relationships, how we feel about ourselves, our views, work and lots of other things in life. We often see how things start out small: they bother us in a small way to start with, but the problem ends up snowballing, growing arms and legs everywhere and we end up feeling life is going around in circles, getting nowhere and not knowing how to change it. Many people we work with in therapy and counselling describe how this causes them to end up feeling stuck and unable to move: a bit like being trapped in a spider’s w
